Volume 17

This volume mainly depicts the fierce battle at Mugen Castle. Particularly noteworthy is the battle with Douma, the second of the first-class demons. The Insect Pillar, Shinobu Kocho, hits Doma’s vital point on the neck and injects poison into it, but unfortunately it doesn’t work on Doma, and Shinobu is killed by Doma and absorbed as is. After this tragedy, Kanawo Tsuyuri confronts Douma.
Meanwhile, Zenitsu Agatsuma is confronting seniors , Kaigaku, who has newly become sixth of the first-class demons. Zenitsu vents his anger that his master committed seppuku because Kaigaku, who had the right to inherit the lightning breath, became a demon. However, Kaigaku sneers at this, further angering Zenitsu.
Nezuko is sleeping in the Ubuyashiki residence after taking a humanizing drug. On the other hand, Tanjiro and his Giyu face off against the third of the first strings, Akaza, and as a result of the battle, Giyu also develops a birthmark.

Volume 18

Tanjiro and the Water Pillar, Giyu Tomioka, engage in a fierce battle with the the third of the first-class demons, Akaza. Tanjiro remembered his father before and was able to master the “transparent world,” the state of selflessness. However, Akaza sees this change as dangerous and releases a final blue-silver afterglow, inflicting a fatal wound on Giyuu. Tanjiro is safe and goes behind Akaza and cuts his neck. However, Akaza seeks strength, and even after his neck is cut, her body does not collapse and continues to attack. What stopped Akaza from fighting with just his torso was a memory from when Akaza was human. His sickly father, his teacher Keizo, Koyuki, who was supposed to be his wife, and Akaza, who became a demon in despair after losing all the people he loved, but his beloved… Remembering the person, realizing defeat, and self-destructing.
At the same time, Kanawo Tsuyuri fights against Douma, the second member of the first-class demons. Inosuke appears and assists Kanawo, who has had his Nichirin sword stolen. Douma recognizes Inosuke’s real face, and it is revealed that he knew Inosuke’s mother, Kotoha. Inosuke was said to have been abandoned by his parents, but Douma was the one who killed Inosuke’s mother.

Volume 19

Kanawo and Inosuke take on the battle against Douma, the second member of the first-class demons. Kanawo and Inosuke express their anger and confront Doma, but Doma’s strength is on an order of magnitude, and they are overwhelmed by the blood demon techniques he displays one after another. In particular, Douma’s ice puppet blood demon technique is powerful, and Kanawo and Inosuke are forced to struggle. However, due to the effects of the poison that Shinobu Kocho had injected into himself, Douma’s body begins to collapse, and the ice doll also disappears due to the effects of the poison. Taking this opportunity, Kanawo and Inosuke rush into Douma’s head, aiming for him.
On the other hand, Iguro Obanai, the snake pillar, and Mitsuri Kanroji, the love pillar, fight against the fourth the first-class demons, Nakime, and Kasumi pillar, Muichiro Tokito, challenges the battle against Kokushibou. Muichiro Tokito is revealed to be a descendant of the first of the first-class demons, Kokushibou, and is overwhelmed by Kokushibou’s moon breathing along with Genya.

Volume 20

the first-class demons, Kokushibou, was the twin brother of Yoriichi, the user of the Breath of the Sun. Kokushibou became a demon out of jealousy that no matter how hard he tried, he could not match Yoriichi, who had a natural talent. Muichiro Tokito and Genya Shinazugawa’s torsos are cut in half by Kokushibou, who uses moon breathing. Even though they were torn apart, the two still hung on and risked their lives to stop Kokushibou’s movements.
With the fierce attack of Sanemi Shinazugawa and Gyoumei Himejima, they succeeded in beheading him. However, like Akaza, Kokushibou overcomes the weakness in his neck. The Demon Slayer Corps was in despair, but Kokushibou was confused by his own ugly appearance reflected on the sword. Kokushibou collapses, still holding on to his feelings for Yoriichi.

Volume 21

After the first battle with Kokushibou, Muichiro and Genya run out of energy. Muichiro Tokito reunites with his older brother Yuichiro just before his death, and they understand each other’s thoughts. Genya also reconciles with his older brother, Sanemi, and after expressing his gratitude, he runs out of energy. Kokushibou and Yoriichi did not understand each other until the end, but the two brothers, Yuichiro and Muichiro, and Sanemi and Genya, were able to understand each other in the end.
Meanwhile, Muzan is revived after he has finished disassembling the “humanization medicine” used by Tamayo. At the same time, Tamayo, who was suppressing Muzan, is destroyed, and Yushiro, who had been mixed up with the Demon Slayer Corps, faces the wrath of Yushiro. Yushiro steals the vision of the fourth of the first-class demons, Nakime, and due to the tug of war with Muzan, Mugen Castle collapses, and the demon slayers are pushed from underground to above ground. An hour and a half until dawn, the final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji begins.

Volume 22

Muzan’s attack becomes even more violent. Love Pillar Mitsuri Kanroji will not be able to participate in the battle, but she will still try to participate in the battle. The snake pillar, Obanai Iguro, entrusts the injured Kanroji to her general soldiers, and tells her to stand back, saying, “Enough, you’ve done enough,” and she returns to the fight. Iguro reminisces about his past. He thinks that he wishes he could meet her in a world without demons, but he recalls that unless he replaces his “dirty blood” with his whole body, he won’t even be able to be near Kanroji. . Iguro comes from a family where snake demons made a living from the money and goods they stole from people, so he is ashamed of his blood, and with his will to die, heads towards Muzan.
Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Kanawo Tsuyuri join in the fight, but even in large numbers, they are no match for Muzan’s overwhelming power. Muzan’s fast attack leaves everyone unable to fight. Muzan attacks the sitting Kanawo, but Tanjiro saves her in the nick of time.
Unlike humans, Muzan, who is not supposed to get tired, gradually begins to take damage. The medicine that Tamayo used was not just a medicine that turned demons back into humans. Due to the “aging” drug used at the same time, Muzan aged over 9,000 years overnight.

Volume 23

This volume is the final volume of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series.
As dawn approaches, death approaches Muzan Kibutsuji. The Demon Slayer Corps uses their last strength to keep Muzan in the sunlight, and his body perishes. In the fight with Muzan, Gyoumei Himejima,Obanai Iguro , and Mitsuri Kanroji lose their lives.
Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, Giyuu, Shinazugawa Sanemi, and Kanawo survived despite being injured all over their bodies. However, Tanjiro is turned into a demon by Muzan. The Demon Slayer Corps finds themselves in a hopeless situation, but thanks to the wisteria flower medicine that Kanawo sacrifices and the voices of his friends, Tanjiro is able to refuse Muzan’s invitation and return to being human.
A peaceful time without demons has arrived. The Demon Slayer Corps was disbanded, and the Ubuyashiki family was relieved of their responsibilities. Three months have passed since Muzan was defeated. After finishing his rest, Tanjiro visits the grave of the Demon Slayer Corps who died in the line of duty, and returns to his parents’ house with Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu.
And to the present day. . . On the way to school, the peaceful lives of the descendants and reincarnations of the story’s central characters are depicted.
