Volume 9

Uzui, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke infiltrate the Yoshiwara red-light district where demons live in order to find Uzui’s three wives who had infiltrated in advance.
Immediately, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke also disguised themselves as women and infiltrated each store and began searching.
Warabihime, a popular courtesan at Kyogoku-ya that Zenitsu infiltrated, turns out to be Daki, the sixth-ranked fallen princess among the enemy’s top 12.
Tanjiro clashes with Daki, who appears to attack KoiNatsu, the courtesan of “Tokito-ya”!
Meanwhile, Inosuke follows the demon’s signs and rushes into the demon’s food storehouse where Uzui’s two wives were being held.

Volume 10

Tanjiro, who repeatedly performs Hinokami Kagura against Daki, reaches his limit and collapses.
Then Nezuko, awakened by anger, steps in to help. Nezuko’s awakened power was comparable to that of a first-class demon.
Nezuko, who has become a demon after fighting the fallen princess, tries to attack humans.
She falls asleep to Tanjiro’s lullaby, and Nezuko is able to enter a restorative sleep without eating anyone.
Sound pillar Uzui rushes in and immediately decapitates her fallen princess, but her fallen princess does not collapse.
Her older brother, Giyuutarou, emerges from the fallen princess’s back as she cries as her head is cut off.
The fallen princess and GiyuuTaro are one in the same. Unless both of them were beheaded at the same time, they could not be destroyed.

Volume 11

Tanjiro/Uzui VS Giyuutaro.
Inosuke/Zenitsu VS Fallen Princess (Daki).
Uzui was poisoned and lost an arm.
He finally decapitated the fallen princess, but Giyuutaro’s blade poisoned Inosuke, and the fallen princess recovered.
Tanjiro and his friends are forced to lose the battle over and over again, but at the last moment they manage to decapitate both the Fallen Princess and the Giyuutaro at the same time.
The detoxification was also completed by Nezuko’s blood demon technique. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Uzui, and Inosuke survived.


Volume 12

The sixth-ranked fallen princess and GiyuuTaro among the enemy’s top 12 are defeated by the Demon Slayer Corps, and Kibutsuji summons the first quarter demons for the first time in 113 years. The appearance of all the first string demons is revealed.
After the battle in the red light district, Tanjiro fell into a coma for two months and was on the verge of death, but everyone recovered. Tanjiro heads to the village of the swordsmith in order to have his Nichirin sword repaired, which was broken during the fight between the fallen princess and the Giyuu Taro.
The village of swordsmiths includes Genya Shinazugawa, a contemporary of Tanjiro, Mitsuri Kanroji, the pillar of love, and Muichiro Tokito, the pillar of Kasumi, was recuperating.
Tanjiro trains hard with Yoriichizeroshiki, a mechanical doll passed down in the village of swordsmiths.
After defeating Yoriichizeroshiki, a rusted sword from the Sengoku period came out.
The rusted sword was rehammered by Hotaru Haganezuka for three days and nights.
At that time, two first-class demons, “Hantengu” and “Gyokko” at the same time in the swordsmith’s village.

Volume 13

Hantengu and Gyokko, the a first-class demons, attack the village of the swordsmith. The half-tengu uses its unique ability of splitting, and Tanjiro, Nezuko, Kasumibashira’s Muichiro Tokito, and Genya Shinazugawa are forced to struggle against the half-tengu, which has split into four bodies. Tanjiro teams up with Genya and Nezuko to confront these four demons, but they are unable to land a decisive blow against each other.
Muichiro Tokito is blown away by the Hantengu technique and discovers Kotetsu being attacked by demons. He heads to the swordsmith Kanamori to receive a new sword, but encounters Gyokko, the fifth of the first string demons. Meanwhile, Mitsuri Kanroji, a love pillar, rushes in and rescues Tetsuchi Kawara Tetsuchin, the village chief.
This volume also depicts a scene in which Tanjiro’s sword is dyed red due to Nezuko’s explosive blood, and a scene in which Muichiro Tokito confronts the fifth of the first string demons and becomes a prisoner. It also includes important episodes that reveal the Shinazugawa brothers’ past and the reason for their rift.

Volume 14

Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya Shinazugawa fought against the half-tengu, which split into four bodies, but one of them, Sekido, absorbed the other three. Transforms into a demon that looks like a child. Meanwhile, Muichiro Tokito, a member of the Kasumi Pillar, confronts Tamatsubo alone. Gyokko attacks Tanjiro’s swordsmith, Haganezuka Hotaru, but Haganezuka Hotaru does not stop sharpening his sword. Muichiro Tokito is captured in a mass of water by the blood demon technique of the ball pot, and is exhausted without being able to breathe, but he escapes when the boy Kotetsu blows into the water bowl, and Muichiro Tokito becomes the twin He regains his past memories of living with his older brother, Yuichiro.
Tanjiro corners the main body of the half-tengu and slashes at the half-tengu’s neck, but Nezuko’s blood is no longer effective and he is unable to sever his neck. Furthermore, the demons of joy, anger, sadness, and happiness combine to form a new demon, Zōhakuten, who surrounds the half-tengu’s body with trees so that it cannot attack. Tanjiro has a tough time fighting Hakuten, and Mitsuri Kanroji comes to his aid. During this time, Tokito Muichiro single-handedly succeeds in defeating Jogen’s fifth, Gyokko, and Tanjiro and his friends search for the hidden half-tengu again.

Volume 15

Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya Shinazugawa corner the hantengu who keeps running away. Genya tries to stop the half-tengu by throwing a tree at him, but the half-tengu avoids this and continues to run away. Using his lightning breath, Tanjiro catches up to the half-tengu and slashes him in the neck. In the end, with the help of Genya, Nezuko, and Tokito, Tanjiro succeeds in cutting off the half-tengu’s neck. However, as morning approaches, Nezuko is exposed to the sunlight.
“Nezuko is no good anymore…” Everyone thought so, but somehow Nezuko overcame the sunlight. She becomes the only demon that does not disappear under the sun. In order to overcome the sun himself, Kibutsuji Muzan aims to capture Nezuko. In the calm before the storm, demons will no longer appear.
From Tokito’s mouth, he shares information about the conditions under which birthmarks appear, and reveals Giyu’s past and thoughts. Also, in this volume, the “Pillar Training Edition” begins. This is an episode where the pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps train with Tanjiro and others. Through this training, Tanjiro and his friends will achieve further growth and acquire new powers.

Volume 16

This volume focuses on pillar training. Tanjiro undergoes rigorous training under the rock pillar, Himejima. This includes training by being hit by a waterfall, training by carrying three logs, and training by pushing a rock one town over. Tanjiro completes these trainings and is taught by Genya a technique called “repetitive motion” that opens all of his senses at once.
Himejima tells Tanjiro about his own tragic past. A long time ago, he was raising orphaned children at a temple, and one night, one of the children did not obey the orders of Himejima and encountered a demon.
Meanwhile, in another aspect of the story, Muzan Kibutsuji finds out where Ubuyashiki is, Kagaya Ubuyashiki blows up the mansion and dies, and Tamayo injects Muzan with a humanizing drug. However, Tanjiro and his friends are separated and dropped into Mugen Castle by Narume. First, Shinobu confronts Douma, the second of the first strings, at Mugen Castle.
